This past weekend was spent in Lanaken in Belgium at the World Breeding Championship for Young Horses. We always look forward to this weekend every year – just like many other breeders – as it is not only an opportunity to see the prospects of the sport in action but also a possibility to connect with people in the sport from all over the world. This year was extra special for us.

Earlier in the summer our offspring Discovery SD Z (Diarado x Chin Chin x Carthago Z) by our broodmare Fine-Chin Van Het Gevahof was selected out of over 1200 foals for the Quality Auction Saturday night. For us, as a small breeder from Norway, it is an incredible privilege to see one of our offspring among some of the best. It was our first time even trying the whole process of foal selecting and what an experience that has been. We had no expectations for what to expect and everything was just part of the experience.

We are very happy with the results and happy to announce that Discovery SD Z is sold to an online bidder in Hungary. We wish the new owners all the best and we are looking forward to what the future holds for Discovery SD Z. This year Fine-Chin also had two embryo foals; the filly Codex Finest SD Z (Codex One x Chin Chin x Carthago Z) who is sold to the Høidal Family in Norway and Exclusive SD Z (Eldorado van de Zeshoek TN x Chin Chin x Carthago Z) who is also sold to ambitious new owners.

Next year in 2022 we are expecting two foals by Fine-Chin Van Het Gevahof. One by  Conthargos x Chin Chin x Carthago Z and one by Cornet Obolensky x Chin Chin x Carthago Z.

On the Friday we watched the Sire Of The World class which is always a highlight of the weekend, and this year’s winner was none other than Koen Vereecke and Kasanova de la Pomme. This year we got a lovely Kasanova de la Pomme filly out of our young promising mare Rosa Rubiginosa Van De Lentamel (Vigo D’arsouilles x Cardento) which was sold as an embryo. We would like to express a big congratulations to Koen Vereecke with the win!

We are looking forward to the upcoming years with even more interesting offsprings to come and who knows maybe there will be another Stall Dal foal selected for the Quality Auction or participating in the Young Horses Championship in the future, fingers crossed!
